An Ecumenical Workshop
sponsored by The Anglican Diocese of Ottawa

Wow! OK - what a day it was!! More than 90 of us gathered for Ottawa's first Fresh Expressions Vision Day! It's not just memories that we retain, but examples of action to inspire our own vision.
Special thanks go out to our presenters Matt and Michelle, our  organizing committee, Sue (our national Fresh Expressions coordinator for Vision Days), Bill and our hosts at St. Thomas the Apostle, Dana - for our worship, and to Dr. Gordon Johnson for inspirational music.

This workshop is based on a decade of experience in the UK, where the
Methodist and Anglican churches have developed the program they called "Fresh Expressions" (of church). Its content has been adapted for Canadian churches by freshexpressions.ca . In the USA, this might be seen as an "emergent church" type of workshop.

This is an ecumenical workshop, open to all churches.
It is supported by a grant from the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa, with an organizing committee from Ottawa Centre churches, and is being hosted by St. Thomas the Apostle on Alta Vista Drive.

All churches in the Ottawa region are welcome. These Vision Days have had enthusiastic responses both from large urban churches and from small rural churches.

     T
he workshop site has ample parking, and good OC Transpo service (Route 8). It is wheelchair-accessible.

Registration is $25, and covers the cost of handouts, refreshments and a light lunch.

There are benefits to coming with a group from your own church, whether you sit together or apart. It is good to be able to talk, long after the workshop,
with friends about possible fresh expressions for your particular church.

We are planning to have tables of eight, and also recommend that
each table have participants from at least two churches.

The penultimate version of the 7-minute video shown at the Diocese of Ottawa's Synod on Oct. 24, is available here for download in two formats: either Windows Media (.wmv 9MB) or QuickTime (.mov 22MB).
