All
Saints' Support: Prayer Requests
Prayer
requests for particular individuals or concerns can be written on a
slip of paper and added to the prayer request box at the back of the
church (see picture at right).
These names and concerns are mentioned in the prayers of the
people in our service of worship. We try to err on the side of
confidentiality, so usually first names only will be used, without
personal details.
Additional prayer support can be arranged through the church office and the
clergy. Special blessings can be had at the altar rail during
communion, or after the service with annointing and laying on of hands.
Prayer Shawl Ministry Prayer shawls are knitted, blessed and given to those in need of this support.
"Knitters
are part of a tradition that's both plainly practical and deeply
spiritual. With needles clicking, they weave together not just
garments to warm the body but also comfort and companionship to nurture
the soul. This tradition is flowering today through knitting
ministries, a worldwide ecumenical movement of women's groups,
gathering to pray and knit for those in need and those celebrating
life's joys. As they create shawls for others, their handiwork
becomes an expression of their love - and of the loving care of the God
who works through them." Knitting into the Mystery by S.Jorgnesen and S.Izard.
For more information, contact the church office. If
you like to knit or crochet, you may like to create the shawls. If you
know of someone who would benefit from receiving a prayer shawl, please
tell us.
